WHARFEDALE and Aireborough residents are being invited to share their thoughts on how local parks and green spaces could be improved.

Leeds City Council is asking the public for ideas as it develops a strategy for how to look after its green spaces - including nature areas - over the next decade.

Seven potential priorities have also been proposed for the strategy, focusing on: quality; equality of opportunity; environment; health and wellbeing; sustainability; collaboration; and culture.

The consultation will run until February 29 and residents are being asked to contribute by completing an online survey at https://surveys.leeds.gov.uk/s/G76QA/.

The city council’s Executive Member for the Environment and Active Lifestyles, Councillor Mohammed Rafique, said: “We are proud of our public parks and green spaces and know they are essential to the quality of life and wellbeing of our residents.

“We are putting together a strategy for managing them over the next decade and want to ensure it reflects the needs of all our communities which is why we are keen to hear as many opinions as possible.”
