A FORMER Ilkley Grammar School student has been awarded the Cheltenham Bowl prize at this year’s University of Gloucestershire graduation ceremony.

Animal Biology graduate, Megan Stone, received the award in front of an audience of 1,000 on November 20. The award celebrates the graduating student who has made a significant contribution to outreach work in Cheltenham. Megan said: “I am delighted to win this award and feel very proud that I have made such a positive difference to the university and to Cheltenham. As well as founding the Plastic Free Cheltenham campaign I started the Green Team society at university and it is great to see that both initiatives are continuing to grow. I would urge anybody who is concerned about environmental issues to step up and take action, as together we can make a difference.”

Megan continues her studies at the University with MSc Applied Biology.
