THE ‘DRIVING force’ behind this year’s Pool Feast has been named as Pool-in-Wharfedale’s new Honorary Citizen.
The village’s big annual event returned in August after a two year break and Moira Keith and the committee she put together have been praised for its success.
Moira was named this year’s Honorary Citizen and presented with her shield at the Pool Parish Council Civic Service at St Wilfrid’s Church on Sunday, October 6. Parish council Chair Councillor Hazel Lee said: “Moira is actively involved with both churches and the primary school and was the driving force behind this year’s Pool Feast.
“She is also a school governor, going on school trips and reading groups, and is helpful to all. She is very highly thought of and completely meets the criteria for being an Honorary Citizen.”
Guests at the service included councillors, Otley Town Mayor Peter Jackson and the Assistant Chief Constable of West Yorkshire, Angela Williams.
