OTLEY Courthouse is inviting feedback from anyone who has used its Maker Space facility.

The community workspace, created for ‘avid tinkerers’, was officially opened earlier this year by MP Alex Sobel (Lab, Leeds North West).

Based in the Courthouse’s annexe, the building is kitted out with all kinds of equipment to help craftworkers create.

It is also being used for monthly Repair Cafes, where people can bring in household items for a team of ‘fixers’ to inspect and see if they can be fixed.

And scientist Dr Marty Jopson - one of the leading figures behind Otley Science Festival and a regular on the BBC’s One Show - has used it to work on props for his experiments.

A Maker Space spokesman said: “We have reviewed our first few months - it has been very exciting and we are learning as we grow.

“We would like people’s input on our future direction and membership structure.

“If you could fill in our survey that would really help us create a Maker Space for the whole of Otley and Lower Wharfedale.”
