OTLEY Singers will hold an open evening next weekend.

The group is inviting anyone interested in joining the choir to come along to the event at the Old People’s Welfare Centre, on Crossgate, on Tuesday, September 17.

Starting at 7.30pm, the evening will give visitors a chance to try singing with the group and is open to everyone.

Attendance to Otley Singers sessions is free for the the first two weeks, after which there is a £50 a term fee.

The community choir sings mostly for pleasure but also occasionally performs for charity and earlier this year appeared on TV as part of a show in memory of MP Jo Cox.

It also took part in this year’s Street Choirs’ Festival, in Manchester, while in Easter Otley Singers visited Spring Gardens care home in Otley. To find out more check the choir’s Facebook page or visit www.otleysingers.com.
