THE Rotary Club of Ilkley Wharfedale has made a start-up grant towards developing Dementia Friendly Awareness in Addingham under the umbrella of the newly formed Addingham Good Neighbours.
Social Prescriber, Sue Moorchild (Age UK Bradford District), based at Addingham Medical Centre, supports Addingham Good Neighbours as part of her role. The links with other groups and organisations within the village and more widely in Wharfedale will also be helpful in developing future dementia friendly activities.
Addingham Good Neighbours, working with the Medical Centre, has recently been obtained a grant from the Asset Based Community Development Fund. This will be used to provide a series of pop up events providing advice around memory issues and for consultation among local residents on what support and services are important to them.
