A CYCLE race at Norwood has raised £200 for a fund that supports young riders.
The road race, held at the end of May and organised by Otley Cycle Club and Chevin Cycles, attracted 75 riders. The proceeds have been donated to the Dave Rayner Fund which helps young riders who want to get experience of racing abroad.
Race organiser Tim Howcroft said: “Penny Pot is a circuit that Dave would have raced many times and the race itself was ridden in a manner that Dave would have been pleased to be associated with - hard and fast.
“Otley Cycle Club is pleased to support the fund for the fantastic opportunities it gives to riders in pursuing their dreams, and is proud that one of our young members, Tom Cullen, is a supported rider from the fund for this summer.”
Tom, who recently travelled to Belgium, said: “I am really pleased to be given this opportunity and will make the most of racing in the best amateur race scene in the world.”
