A DONATION of £300 was made to an educational charity following a fundraising concert in Otley last week.

Otley Town Councillor Penny Robinson (Lib Dem, Manor) presented the money to a representative from Mary’s Meals, which runs school feeding programmes to support poorer communities around the world, on Friday, May 17.

Cllr Robinson is the founding Chair of UK Advising and Tutoring, which raised the money at its annual conference in Plymouth last month.

The presentation took place at Our Lady and All Saints Catholic Church and followed a performance by local choir Sally’s Army which was also in aid of Mary’s Meals.

The concert ended up raising £1,018 for the organisation.

Mary’s Meals works in 18 countries across Africa, Asia, Latin America, Eastern Europe, and the Caribbean - to find out more visit www.marysmeals.org.uk .
