A ZUMBATHON will take place at Yeadon Town Hall this weekend to raise money for Comic Relief.

The Red Nose Day event will be held from 12 noon to 2pm on Sunday, March 24.

The exercise group Zumba Yeadon, run by Deborah Duffy, is hosting the session again this year, providing a fun way for people to get active and help a good cause.

The event is open to everyone - and participants are encouraged to get involved as much or as little as they like.

Deborah said: “The purpose of the event is to bring local people together and enjoy an afternoon full of ‘wiggles and giggles’ raising money for a great cause. Of course, Zumba helps to get people active in a fun and engaging way and hopefully the event might act as a bit of a taster for those who’ve always fancied giving it a try.”

The Zumbathon entry fee is £5, with all additional sponsorship going to Comic Relief. Last year the event helped to raise just under £1,000. To participate visit www.facebook.com/events/783363725330502 .
