A WALL crashed down on two vehicles at Silsden today.

Torrential rain brought down a section of the garden retaining wall at Weavers Walk.

A Mercedes and a Volvo estate parked beneath it were both badly damaged.

No one was injured.

Firefighters from Keighley were called out to the incident this morning.

They spent about two hours at the scene, making it safe.

"There was the potential for further collapse so we cordoned off the area around the wall," said Keighley fire service watch commander, Ahsan Ali.

"We alerted Bradford Council's emergency planning team and structural engineers were called out to assess the situation."

The weather also led to the fire service receiving several calls from people whose cellars had flooded.

And several minor roads were difficult to negotiate due to flood water.
