A MENSTON school is celebrating a partnership that has seen it raise more than £50,000 for charity.
St Mary’s Menston has been supporting Catholic overseas development agency CAFOD for more than 20 years.
The school has helped by holding regular fundraising events at Advent and Easter alongside specific appeals for causes such as the Ebola crisis and the 2010 Haitian Earthquake.
School Chaplain Julia Findlay said: “St Mary’s Menston is proud to have embraced CAFOD as one of its main charities since the school opened in 1964.
“As part of Caritas International this Catholic agency has allowed our community to reach out to and support our global family. Over the years key staff have championed CAFOD, raising funds through the school’s Advent Appeal, the twice yearly Family Fast Days and much more.”
