WHARFEDALE and Aireborough residents are being invited to join a local hospice’s first Memory Flowers event.

Staff at Sue Ryder Wheatfields Hospice, in Headingley, are hoping people from across Leeds will join them on Saturday, March 23.

Memory Flowers has been organised as a way to remember loved ones while supporting the hospice by purchasing blue daisies designed by craftsman and sculptor Paul Cox.

Hospice Fundraiser Michelle Darbyshire said: “The event is a special time for you, your friends and family to join in to remember loved ones by dedicating a flower in their memory.

“These striking blue daisies are a beautiful way to remember a loved one. Dedications and readings will be from 11.30am. Flowers can be purchased on the day, at a suggested donation of £25, or beforehand.

“If you have already purchased a flower you are invited to bring it and make a dedication. Refreshments and afternoon tea will be available from noon.” For more details call (0113) 278 7249.
