PATIENTS are being given the chance to have their say about Airedale Hospital’s audiology service.

Adults who have received a hearing aid from the department are being invited to a feedback event being held next week.

The session takes place in the seminar room at the Steeton hospital’s education centre, Location B12, next Thursday (Jan 24), between 2pm and 3.30pm.

Katie Davenport, senior audiologist at Airedale NHS Foundation Trust, said she was keen to hear people’s views about the service.

“It’s the first time we have held an event like this,” she added.

“We want to try to get some feedback – for example on patient leaflets – and to hear our patients’ opinions on how we run their department.

“We’re open to suggestions and will see what our patients want from it as well.

“Speakers could be arranged if people wish.

“It’s really important to get patient feedback rather than us just saying ‘this is what we think should happen’.”

Refreshments will be provided at the event.

Places must be booked in advance, by this Sunday. Call 01535 293646 or e-mail Katie.davenport@anhst.nhs.uk.

The audiology team hopes to stage a similar event for paediatric patients in the near future.
