BRAMHOPE residents are being urged to support a move to introduce more 20mph zones in the village.

Leeds City Council is proposing to introduce the lower limit on a number of residential streets including:

*Breary Lane East, Creskeld Crescent, Creskeld Drive, Greskeld Gardens, Greskeld Garth, Creskeld Park, Glenmore Court, Hall Close, Hall Rise, Hall Rise Close, Hall Rise Croft, High Ridge Way and Wellhead Close

*Breary Lane, from its junction with Leeds Road to its junction with Creskeld Crescent

*Creskeld Lane, from its junction with Leeds Road to 280 metres north of Creskeld Park

*Hall Drive, from its junction with Hall Rise for a distance of 30 metres heading north west.

The council is inviting comments which should be received by Monday, December 10.

Councillor Barry Anderson (Con, Adel & Wharfedale) said: β€œI fully support this proposal, which I hope residents will support, as it complements the work that has been done on the west side of Leeds Road.

β€œIt will hopefully provide a safer environment for young and old alike. The one concern I do have, though, is about the lack of appropriate enforcement.”
