A 24-YEAR-OLD Ilkley man has been fined for breaching coronavirus restrictions.
The case against George Wild, of Cowpasture Road, Ilkley, was heard at Bradford Magistrates' Court, on May 25, 2021. He was charged with participating in a gathering in Ilkley on December 1, 2020 in breach of coronvirus restrictions which were in place at the time.
The charge he faced was: "On 01/12/2020 at Ilkley, without reasonable excuse, other than as permitted by the Regulations, participated in a gathering in a public outdoor place, namely Development Centre, Valley Drive, Ilkley, which consisted of more than two people contrary to regulations 8 and 20(1)(a) and (2) of the Health Protection (Coronavirus, Restrictions) (England) (No. 4) Regulations 2020."
The case was proved and Wild was fined £220, ordered to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £34, and pay costs of £85.
