A MAN has been jailed after stealing more than £1,700 worth of items from a pharmacy. 

Dean Womersley, 41, of Shirley Manor Gardens, Wyke, appeared before Bradford Magistrates' Court earlier this month. 

On May 5 this year, he burgled Lloyds Pharmacy at Low Moor Medical Centre and stole "various electrical items and toiletries" worth £1772.33

He also faced a charge of going equipped for burglary on December 13, 2019 at Griffe Road, Bradford, having with him "an article for use in the course of, or in connection with burglary, namely hammer and screwdrivers and tools".

He was also charged with failing to surrender to custody at Bradford Magistrates' Court on May 10. 

He pleaded guilty to all offences and was sentenced to a total of 30 weeks' imprisonment. 

He must also pay a victim surcharge of £149.
