A MAN accused of murdering his father has had his trial postponed until early next year.
Phillip Badwal, 25, of Airedale Road, Undercliffe, Bradford, is charged with murdering Santokh ‘Charlie’ Singh, 59, who was found dead with serious head injuries on November 30 last year.
Today, Judge Neil Davey QC, sitting at Bradford Crown Court, postponed the six day trial due to start on July 12 to January 4, 2022.
Badwal’s barrister, Peter Moulson QC, said the defence team was ordering a psychiatric report.
Following the death, many tributes were paid to Mr Singh, who was known as the 'King of Otley Road' and was a recognisable local character.
He was described as a happy, bubbly person who made people laugh.
