THESE are the people who have recently appeared before magistrates’ court charged with using a mobile phone while driving.

Raza Aslam, 39, of Queens Road, Finchley, was fined £660 on May 7 and ordered to pay a surcharge of £66 and costs of £85 for using a mobile phone at the wheel while driving on Highmoor Lane, Hartshead, on August 4, 2019. He was also disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for six months.

Anum Sajawal, 31, of Hastings Terrace, Little Horton, was fined £40 on May 7 after being caught driving while using a phone on Hastings Terrace, Bradford, on July 17, 2019. She must pay a surcharge of £32 and costs of £85. Her driving licence will be endorsed with six penalty points.

Naheem Shabir, 26, of Ploughmans Croft, Swain House, was caught driving while using a mobile phone on Canal Road on November 2 last year. The fine, handed out on May 26, was £220, along with a £34 surcharge, costs of £90 and six points. There was no separate penalty for driving on Shipley Airedale Road on November 6 last year in a Nissan Micra which had a tyre with a ply/cord exposed.

Stacey Thompkins, 31, of Rowlestone Rise, Eccleshill, was caught driving while using a mobile phone on Round Street, Bradford, on November 4 last year. She was fined £70 on May 26, must pay a surcharge of £34 and costs of £90 and will receive six penalty points on her licence.

Paul Edward Pratt, 36, of Ravenscliffe Avenue, Ravenscliffe, was caught using a mobile phone while driving on Stanningley Bypass on November 7 last year. He was fined £121 by the courts on May 27. He must also pay a surcharge of £34 and costs of £90. His driving licence will be endorsed with six penalty points. He was also charged with driving on Stanningley Bypass on the same day without due care and attention but received no separate penalty.

Doriusz Wisniewski, 41, of Chellow Street, Bankfoot, was fined £300 on May 28 after being caught driving without third-party insurance on Duncombe Road, Bradford, on October 12 last year. He must also pay a surcharge of £34 and costs of £90. His driving record was also endorsed with eight penalty points.  On that same day he was found to be driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence and using a phone at the wheel, for which he received no separate penalty.

Kevin David William Gilmore, 28, of Reevy Crescent, Buttershaw, was sentenced on June 1 for driving on Knowles Lane, Holme Wood, on July 13 2019, for driving while under the influence of THC. He was fined £189 and disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for 42 months.  On the same day, Gilmore was also caught using a mobile phone while at the wheel. There was no separate penalty for this offence.

James William Hanrahan, 20, of Westoff Lane, Wakefield, was fined £220 on June 1 for using a phone at the wheel while on Leeds Road, at its junction with Moorside Lane, in Bradford on November 10 last year. He must also pay a surcharge of £34 and costs of £90. He also received six penalty points.

Miran Fatah Karim, 31, of Birkdale Drive, Alwoodley, Leeds, was also caught using a phone at the wheel on November 10 last year on Leeds Road, at its junction with Moorside Lane. The fine, issued on June 1, was £220, with costs of £34, a surcharge of £90 and six penalty points.

Sebastian Macken, 29, of The Avenue, Sale, Cheshire, drove on Barkerend Road, Barkerend, on November 2 last year while using a mobile phone. He was fined £660, must page a surcharge of £66 and costs of £90. His driving licence will be endorsed with six penalty points.
