A 33-YEAR-OLD man is on trial accused of sexually abusing a young girl.

Mohammed Waqar, of Devonshire Street, Keighley, pulled down the child’s trousers, touched her indecently and showed her pornographic films, it is alleged.

Waqar denies seven charges of sexual assault of a girl under 13 and two counts of causing a child to watch a sexual act.

Prosecution barrister, Deborah Smithies, said the girl complained to her mother in September last year that Waqar had touched her private parts and made her watch “dirty movies”.

She alleged he asked her what colour underwear she was wearing, kissed her on the lips and rubbed her chest.

Miss Smithies told Bradford Crown Court that the abuse began two years ago when the girl was eight.

Waqar, who is married with children, has denied each and every one of the allegations, Miss Smithies said.

He said he had never been alone in a room with the child, never touched her inappropriately and had never shown her pornographic videos, she told the jury yesterday.

The trial, expected to end this week, continues.
