A window and door manufacturer is supplying waste uPVC materials to help young engineers at a West Yorkshire centre.
Yeadon-based Franklin Windows is supplying material to support The Young Engineers Academy, a not-for-profit social enterprise, which operates as a commercial recycling business in Huddersfield, to help 16 to 24-year-olds gain new skills in manufacturing.
Josh Franklin, managing director of the family-run business, said: “The agreement allows Franklin Windows to help young people to become reliable employees at no extra cost to our customers.
“We think that the work the YEA does is invaluable and would urge other similar companies to get in touch with the academy if they have uPVC waste which could be dismantled and recycled by these youngsters.”
Ahmed Khan, of the YEA, said: “Many of our young people are determined to prove themselves. The ongoing assistance of companies like Franklin Windows gives us the raw material we need to provide real work experience.”
