PATRICK BUTLIN

Patrick joined BTL’s IT team as an apprentice straight from college in 2017. His enthusiasm and passion for what he does, along with a genuine readiness to learn, made him the ideal candidate for the role.

He had proved himself to be a valuable addition, quickly taking on a significant workload and allowing the team to support the growing business more efficiently.

He provides support to over 150 employees in the Shipley headquarters. Over the past two years his confidence has grown and he has become a strong team member who takes on complex challenges under his own initiative.

ALICE COPEMAN

Alice was taken on my Solenis when it was named BASF, in 2017 as a level three advanced laboratory technician apprentice and is due to complete by September this year.

She joined straight after her GCSE at the age of 16 having heard about the programme through her father, who works on site.

During her apprenticeship she has net and exceeded expectations with her NVQ and BTEC requirements, being ahead of other apprentices on the programme and achieving merit/distinction on all assignments.

JAMES POOLE

James is another finalist from Solenis who joined in 2017 as an advanced level three science manufacturing technician apprentice.

James, as well as his colleague, Alice, has also met and exceeded expectations with his requirements and is ahead of others on the programme.

He has spent time in a number of plants, gaining swift sign-off as competent to run each plant before progressing on to the next challenge.

He has taken personal responsibility and accountability for his own development, adding work to his portfolio for review on a regular and timely basis.
