BUSINESSES across the district have raised more than £2,000 for charity.

Members of Bradford Chamber of Commerce coined-in the cash through a prize draw at the organisation’s annual dinner.

The money has been donated to Dance United Yorkshire, which works with vulnerable and disadvantaged people who would not normally get involved in dance.

Chamber president, Suzanne Watson, said: “The district’s business community has given so generously. Our support of this incredible charity is not only through the funds we collectively raise, but also from the fantastic profiling we can offer the cause.

“Well over 300 heard at our dinner about the high-impact, life-changing dance therapy – and the charity’s message of rehabilitation through dance met with tremendous applause and appreciation. This was a superb start to 12 months of fund and awareness-raising in my first year as president and I couldn’t be more delighted.”

Helen Linsell, artistic and executive director at Dance United Yorkshire, welcomed the support.

“We were thrilled to receive this donation and are hugely appreciative,” she said.
