BARRATT Developments Yorkshire West has recruited a new technical trainee.
As part of his role, Tom Hainsworth, 18, will assist other members of his department, including technical co-ordinators and engineers.
He is also attending Leeds College of Building to do a higher-level apprentice course.
"I am so excited to have secured a job with such a prestigious housebuilder," said Tom.
"It is going to be a valuable experience. I look forward to growing my knowledge and hope to have a brilliant career with Barratt."
The company, which includes the David Wilson Homes brand, has the Vision scheme in Keighley and Hewenden Ridge, Cullingworth.
Technical director, Dave Hudson, said: "We are keen to inspire and develop the next generation of construction workers in all roles, especially in light of the skills shortage currently faced by the wider industry – and opportunities like this do just that.
"We're delighted that Tom has joined us and look forward to seeing him grow as we support him throughout his studies and beyond."
