Building supplies firm Travis Perkins, which also trades as Wickes, said pre-tax profits rose 16 per cent to £313.3m in 2012, helped by an improving sales trend in the final quarter. Poor weather and comparisons from a year earlier meant underlying sales were down 5.1 per cent in the first seven weeks of 2013.
