THE public toilets in the centre of Baildon will be reopened on Saturday after being taken over by the Town Council.
Baildon Town Council has formally accepted the transfer of the public toilets in the town, and will be fully responsible for their running and maintenance.
Councillor Gill Dixon said: "We are delighted that our loos have had a makeover, and wish to thank all the volunteers and organisations who are helping, including Bradford Council, a local cleaning company, Bradford Community payback scheme, and our local artist. New signage has been installed to the external wall, which will give a clear contact email which anyone can use to alert us to any problems which may arise.
"We hope that this is the first stage of 'Love our Loos', and we welcome any further ideas or comments from the public."
The toilets will be officially re-opened on Saturday at 9.45am.
The Town Council agreed to take the toilets over in October 2017, and a usage survey found an average of more than 400 people use the toilets every week.
Cllr Dixon also thanked groups including Baildon Runners, Baildon Men's Forum, Baildon Belles, Baildon Walkers are Welcome, and the Bradford Chamber of Commerce for donations towards the renovation of the toilets.
