A 31-year-old man has pleaded guilty at Bradford Crown Court to possessing child pornography and hundreds of images of bestiality involving creatures, including an octopus as well as a horse and a dog.

Robert Peter Moore was re-bailed by Judge Jonathan Rose to come back to the court on September 28 to allow the Crown time to consider his basis of plea.

A report will then be prepared about him by the probation service and a sentencing date fixed.

Moore yesterday admitted 15 charges of possessing pornographic pictures of children and animals on February 17 this year.

He pleaded guilty to ten offences of possession of indecent photographs of a child, including one at the most extreme level of seriousness, and a “wrap up” count of possessing 72 indecent photographs of children.

Moore also admitted four allegations of possession of images and videos of bestiality.

One charged him with having 635 extreme pornographic images and 79 videos of people having sex with animals. The images were said in court to be “grossly offensive, disgusting or otherwise of an obscene character”.

Prosecutor Kama Melly said she needed time to consider the acceptability of the basis of plea used by Moore, of Ribblesdale estate, Long Preston, near Skipton .

Otherwise, the issues dividing prosecution and defence would be determined by a judge at a trial of issue hearing.

Moore’s barrister, Robin Frieze, said a request for a report from the probation service would be made when the matter was resolved.

Judge Rose ordered Moore to immediately sign on with the police as a convicted sex offender.
