Brewers are celebrating after their beers were picked for sale in a luxury department store.
Beers from the Ilkley Brewery are now available in Harvey Nichols stores across the country after being selected as the only regional brands to make the grade for the well-known firm.
Real ale connoisseurs can now buy Ilkley’s award-winning craft beers from the iconic Knightsbridge store in London, as well as the Leeds, Manchester and Bristol stores.
Harvey Nichols’ OXO Tower in London has also been selling Ilkley Jubilee in its restaurant, brasserie and tower bar throughout the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations.
Chris Ives, one of Ilkley Brewery’s directors, said: “The response we have had from Harvey Nichols has exceeded all our expectations.
“To have our beers stocked at our local Leeds store is a fantastic coup in itself, but to be on the shelves of Harvey Nichols’ other UK stores, alongside both international and other regional brands, is very exciting for us as a microbrewery.”
Harvey Nichols’ buyer, Andrew Duncan, said: “Sales have been encouraging so far which I’m sure is testament to the quality of the product and the strong brand associated with it.”
