New Saltaire roots music club, The Live Room, bring Americana to the stage for their next few gigs and the first of these feature acclaimed Seattle-based duo, Cahalen Morrison and Eli West (pictured).

Their music has been described as “quite extraordinary” by Radio 2’s Bob Harris.

Live Room promoter, Hilary Booth said: “We were determined to get Cahalen and Eli to Saltaire the moment we heard them on Bob’s show last year.

“We’ve been really pleased with the reaction of audiences to the venue, everyone we speak to seems very excited about the programme we've put together and they love the intimate atmosphere of Caroline Club, as do the artists.”

Hailing from New Mexico, Cahalen is a multi-instrumentalist who is equally at home playing fingerstyle guitar, lap slide, mandolin and clawhammer banjo.

Seattle-based Eli had also been a busy multi-instrumentalist, sitting in at times with the likes of Michelle Shocked and members of the Wailin’ Jennys.

Tickets for their Saltaire appearance on July 15, starting at 8pm, are available from www.theliveroom.info.
