Police in Bradford have arrested 49 people in a crackdown on suspected benefit cheats.
Neighbourhood Policing Team Officers joined officials at the Department of Works and Pensions to target 67 homes last month in a joint operation.
In all, 33 were charged, 11 people were bailed in connection with Fraud by False Representation and five people were released with no further action.
PC Phil Roe, of the Bradford South Operations Planning Department, said: “The aim of the operation was to identify those in Bradford claiming unauthorised social security payments by dishonest means and to bring them before the courts. Honest, hardworking taxpayers should not tolerate those who attempt to take advantage of the system, receiving money that they are not entitled to.”
Anyone suspecting fraud can call police on 0800 555111.
