Celebrations to mark Positive Bradford Day are continuing despite strong winds and persistent rain.

Music and dance performances by pupils at Bradford schools have taken place on the main stage in Centenary Square while there has also been entertainment from dohl drummers and street dance artists.

Representatives from several charitable groups working in the city are at the event, including City of Sanctuary, Bradford Refugee Forum, Bradford Street Angels and Bradford Nightstop.

Make Bradford British stars Rashid Mahmood Khan and Damon Scully were among people sampling free samosas and pakoras handed out by staff from Akbars restaurant.

Rashid said: “Positive Bradford gets people together from different cultures. The weather’s not as we want it but the event is bringing us together so we can live together in our communities.”

A giant samosa, which is being prepared at Bradford’s International Food Academy, is due to be unveiled at 4pm.
