Local health care professionals and unpaid carers are being invited to an exclusive screening of a new short film.

Reflections On Caring, developed by Bradford District Care Trust and Making Space, is a new educational resource designed to give a deeper perspective into carers’ experiences in a bid to improve health services locally.

The short film, which features real-life case studies from a number of different carers, will be screened next Wednesday, from 2pm to 6pm at The Octagon in Keighley.

Health professionals from across the district are invited to the event to gain a better understanding of carers’ problems and to look at how professionals and carers can work together to improve services.

Carers themselves are also invited to the event to find out more about the local services available, and network with health professionals and other carers.

The short film is one of a number of initiatives the Care Trust has launched to get feedback from carers.

Jan Rhodes, co-ordinator of the Trust’s Carers Connections service, said: “There are more than 50,000 carers in our city, and while some of them know where to go for support networks, others don’t.”
