Dick Gaughan – guitarist, singer, actor, composer, producer and all-round giant of Scottish music – is at Caroline Street Social Club in Saltaire this weekend.
With a career spanning 40 years, Dick (pictured) is as well-known for his forthright political views as his dazzling guitar playing.
Alongside his recording and touring career, Dick has composed music for films for the BBC, the Scottish Arts Council and independent producers, as well as a full symphony and a 12-part suite for orchestra. He is also an actor and theatre music director, and his songs have been recorded by the likes of Billy Bragg, Christy Moore, Mary Black, Roy Bailey and Capercaillie.
Dick Gaughan is at The Live Room @ Caroline Social Club, Saltaire, on Sunday at 8pm.
