The search is under way by the district’s biggest social landlord, Incommunities, to find its star tenants of 2012.

Nomination forms are now available for the popular awards, which aim to show how individuals and groups and making a positive difference in the communities.

This could be from brightening up their garden or helping make their community a better place.

Posters, social media, nomination forms and the Incommunities website are being used to attract a crop of nominations.

There are seven award categories: l individual garden/display – recognising a green-fingered star who uses their outdoor space creatively l communal garden – celebrating a group’s gardening efforts outside their sheltered scheme or block l ‘kidz korner’ garden – a category for growers under 16 l rising star, recognising a tenant under 21 who has overcome a personal barrier or who has gone an extra mile to help l community star – recognising an Incommunities’ tenant who has helped to make their community a better place l star neighbour – celebrating a special tenant who has gone above and beyond to help a neighbour or neighbours l star team or employee – celebrating an Incommuni-ties team or staff member who has made a positive difference.

There are several ways that individuals and groups can enter, by making an online nomination at incommunities.co.uk; e-mailing starawards @incommunities.co.uk; picking up a form from one of Incommunities’ offices; completing the form included with the ‘summer @home’ leaflet; or by ringing (01274) 254104.

The closing date for entries is Friday, July 20.

The winners will be announced at the Incommunities star awards on Tuesday, September 4, at the Midland Hotel in Bradford. Guests will be treated to a masterclass from top floral designer Jonathan Moseley, who has also appeared on the BBC series Chatsworth.
