A giant walking bus marked the start yesterday of a new community project for parents and nursery children in Allerton, Bradford.
Organised by children’s health professionals at Bradford District Care Trust as part of a national initiative by road safety charity Brake, 319 children from Ley Top Primary School joined more than 100,000 children nationally to raise awareness of the dangers of traffic.
Health visitor Suzanne Convery and parental involvement worker Jacqui Tate, of Ley Top Primary School, led the initiative after concerns were raised by parents and residents regarding the volume of traffic and children’s safety outside the school.
