One of the highlights of the Positive Bradford day is the parade that winds around Centenary Square from 11am.

And it will be led by a true star of Bradford – Lulu the elephant!

The larger-than-life wooden elephant spent years standing on the roof of the Aagrah restaurant in Shipley, and now lives outside the Aagrah’s Midpoint restaurant and conference suite in Thornbury.

She was a familiar and much-loved sight at Bradford Festivals after she was commissioned in 1992, and even made a star appearance at the Indian Film Awards held at the Millennium Dome in 2000, stepping in when organisers were unable to get a live elephant to launch the event.
