Firefighters tackled a blaze at an animal sanctuary last night, which endangered the lives of almost 30 horses.
The fire at Roleystone Horse Sanctuary in Westfield Lane, Wrose started around midnight and destroyed a caravan and shed at the site.
The flames spread to a stable containing 28 horses but firefighters were able to put out the blaze before any animals were injured.
Police are investigating the incident, which is believed to be suspicious. Anyone with information should call West Yorkshire Police on 101.
