Children as young as three at a Bradford school ran five kilometres yesterday to raise money for Cancer Research UK.
Race in Your Place is a new way of getting more people on board for the Cancer Research Race for Life 5k run, which is usually an all-female fundraiser for the charity.
St Francis Catholic Primary School in Myers Lane got on board to hold its own Race in Your Place, with competitors ranging from three-year-olds to parents and teachers.
They all completed the 5km circuit around the school.
Staff hope to have raised £2,000 with the event.
Deputy head teacher Anne Rowan said: “The youngsters started at 8.45am with people running all the way through to 3.30pm.
“We opened it for girls and boys. Every two minutes someone in the UK is told they have cancer and that is why we wanted to support this charity.”
