A pub landlord and two of his regulars have raised £2,000 for two charities by completing a 204-mile walk from Keighley to Ayr, in Scotland.
James Mitchell, licensee of the Cricketers Arms in Coney Lane, Keighley, and customers Damian Curran and Philip Coffey suffered blisters and encountered bad weather during their seven-day trek for Martin House children’s hospice and military charity Help For Heroes.
Victoria Mitchell, who helped organise the walk, said: “The response from people along the way has truly been amazing, with donations of free food and drink and people giving money.
“The lads now have the bug and plan to do another walk next year for charity.”
Money is still coming in from supporters and people can donate until Monday, May 21, at virginmoneygiving.com/team/ walk204.
