Thirty-seven young people will be staging a special drama and rap performance at the Alhambra Studio Theatre this week.
Students from Tong High School have chosen to use drama as a way of highlighting a number of challenging issues that affect young people, as part of their Theatre in Education Unit.
The drama will cover binge drinking, domestic abuse, mental heath issues, cyber bullying and homophobia. The performance will contribute to young people’s BTEC qualification in Performing Arts.
Bradford Youth Service’s rap group will also be performing a series of raps based around similar issues.
Stephen Curran, headteacher at Tong High School, said: “We’re extremely proud that our pupils have worked together to develop performances around really challenging issues. Performing at the Alhambra will be a real achievement for them.”
