A new writing group has started in Shipley to encourage the over 50s to preserve their memories.
The Bradford District Care Trust project called Seniors Show the Way hosts the fortnightly reminiscence writing classes and is looking for more members.
Shiela Jeffery, a Community Health Champion for Seniors Show the Way, set up the reminiscence writing class so others could also preserve their memories for generations to come.
Community Health Champions are local volunteers who give up their time to help spread positive health messages in their communities.
Mrs Jeffery said: “Not only is it an enjoyable exercise to do that provokes lots of memories from the years gone by, it’s also a nice social activity.”
The free class is held every other Thursday from 10.30am to noon at the Kirkgate Centre. The next session is this week. To find out more, call (01274) 321911 or e-mail seniors@bdct.nhs.uk.
