Firebugs started a blaze last night after breaking into a derelict nursing home in Bradford which has been repeatedly targeted by vandals and metal thieves.
Crews from Idle, Shipley and Rawdon fire stations spent about three hours tackling the blaze, which started at The Knoll in Leeds Road at about 10pm.
They used specialist breathing apparatus to safey get inside the building to put out the blaze and high-powered fans to clear the smoke.
The fire had been started in a downstairs room in the former care home, which was closed in 2008.
