A Cononley woman who walks along the A629 occasionally shouting at drivers was abusive to a police officer, Skipton magistrates heard yesterday.
Catherine Lund, 38, repeatedly swore at Sgt Taylor, an officer she normally responded well to.
Sgt Taylor had gone to speak to Lund on March 21 after receiving complaints from drivers of her increasingly aggressive behaviour on the Keighley and Skipton road, the court was told.
Prosecuting, Caroline Midgley, said Lund, of Skipton Road, often walked alongside the road and her reaction to drivers was varied – she swore at drivers, as well as smile at them, but there had been complaints that she was putting hers and others lives at risk.
Lund, who admitted using threatening words, had mental health issues, the court was told. She was given a six month conditional discharge.
