A Skipton man’s fundraising walk along Hadrian’s wall was to be boosted by an open day today.
Brian Scholey is taking part in a two-day, 25-mile walk of the wall, starting on Saturday, April 28. He is raising money for Sue Ryder Care Manorlands Hospice, where his wife, Kathleen, died last year after fighting cancer.
Mr Scholey has already raised more than £500 and today he hopes to raise more at an open day at Skipton Building Society’s High Street office in Skipton.
Refreshments, cakes and biscuits will be served in return for a small donation.
Branch manager Jonathan Jackson said: “We’re no stranger to rolling up our sleeves and supporting our customers with fundraising efforts, and when Brian told us what he was doing to raise money for Manorlands, we really wanted to get behind him and offer our support.”
