Research and support charity Parkinson’s UK will be sending Noodle, the brain cell toy, on a challenging 470 mile relay around Yorkshire using unusual modes of transport to celebrate Parkinson’s Awareness Week next week.
On Monday, Noodle will be arriving by Harley Davidson motorbike to be greeted by Bradford and Shipley branch of Parkinsons UK at Lister Mills, Manningham, for tea and cakes at noon, before continuing on his relay to Halifax on a tandem ridden by fire fighters in full fire fighting gear from West Yorkshire Fire Service.
The Bradford and Shipley branch offers information, friendship and support to people with Parkinson's, their families and carers.
The group meets at Shipley library on the third Wednesday of every month at 7.30pm. For information and support call 0808 8000303, or visit the website parkinsons.org.uk.
