Horror fans are in for a treat at the festival’s late-night series of screenings, Bradford After Dark.

Featuring thrilling previews and restored cult classics, the horror strand, which has proved popular in recent years, runs from April 19 to 29.

Newly-restored digital prints of Hammer classics The Plague of the Zombies and The Reptile will be screened alongside previews including Cuba’s first zombie film Juan of the Dead.

Livid, The Devil’s Business and The Innkeepers are to be screened back-to-back as part of an all-day horror spectacular at Cineworld in Bradford.

Film programmer Robert Nevitt said: “The Bradford After Dark line-up is a diverse and thrilling selection of films that will delight those looking for their fix of horror. All the films offer something slightly different, and we’re especially pleased to welcome Alexandre Bustillo and Julien Maury, the visionary directors of Livid, who will join us for a Q&A screening.”

One of the most eagerly-anticipated films in the Bradford After Dark strand is likely to be The Innkeepers, the latest film by Ti West, currently one of the most hotly-tipped American horror directors and a favourite among horror fans following his latest hit feature, The House of The Devil.

Closing the all-day programme on a highlight, the directors of Livid Alexandre Bustillo and Julien Maury will attend a special Q&A screening of Livid on Saturday April 21 at Cineworld from 9.30pm. Livid is the second feature from directors Maury and Bustillo. It premiered at Toronto International Film Festival 2011 as part of the Midnight Madness strand.

Film-goers and horror fans will have chance to mingle and share their personal highlights at The Sparrow bier cafe, on North Parade, Bradford, the official after-party venue for Bradford After Dark.

All the films screened as part of Bradford After Dark will be shown at repeat screenings throughout the festival for fans unable to make the all-day programme.

Also for horror fans, there are special screenings of highly-anticipated Indonesian martial arts action thriller The Raid on April 22 and 28 as part of the main festival programme.
