The sky’s the limit for a Birkenshaw couple taking on a series of fundraising challenges for the Stroke Association.
Andrew Turner, 41, and his wife Joanne, 39, decided to raise funds for the charity after family members were affected by strokes.
They have already taken part in a skydive, and now plan to run the Leeds 10k race on July 8 in aid of the association.
Mr Turner’s aunt died suddenly from a severe stroke last year aged 53, and Mrs Turner’s father had a stroke in 2005. Mr Turner said: “When Auntie Brenda died so suddenly as a result of a stroke it was a massive shock to the whole family. This money can educate people about the risks of stroke and support stroke survivors to make the best recovery they can.”
