A planning inspector will decide whether the unauthorised sub-division of a Malham house can remain.
The Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority decided to take enforcement action to stop Prior Hall being used as two self-contained dwellings.
The authority has a policy that all additional dwellings created through sub-division are restricted to meet local needs, but without planning permission, no such restriction has been placed on either of the Prior Hall dwellings.
Now an appeal against the enforcement notice has been lodged.
The appellant claims that the alleged breach of control has not occurred as stated, the steps required to comply with the requirements of the notice are excessive and the time given to comply is too short.
The appeal will be determined on the basis of written representations by a planning inspector.
