Natural England has created its first geocache trail at its upland reserve on Ingleborough.
Geocaching is an outdoor treasure hunt where players try to locate different clues or hidden containers, called geocaches, using GPS devices.
Fourteen-year-old Dan Aberg, from Landau Forte College, Derby, helped map out and construct the trail during a work placement.
Dan said: “It’s been a great thing to be involved in and I hope it gets people out enjoying themselves at Ingleborough.”
The trail includes information about the reserve and the caches are concealed along the reserve’s quarry walk. Outreach adviser Tanya St. Pierre said: “Dan’s been a real asset and has worked hard to create an Olympic Multi-Cache Trail at Ribblehead Quarry, which is part of Ingleborough NNR..”
A small number of GPS devices that can be loaned from Ingleborough NNR on a deposit basis.
