The first in a series of walks to link up all the Fairtrade towns and villages in the district was held over the weekend.
The Lord Mayor of Bradford Councillor Naveeda Ikram was on hand for the beginning of the Fairtrade way events on Saturday, when an eight-mile trek from Bradford to Bingley took place. Oganisations have organised the walks as part of Fairtrade Fortnight.
A range of activities will also be taking place to raise awareness of how the system benefits the poorest farmers and workers in developing countries. The theme is 'Take a Step' for Fairtrade, encouraging people to do something to help the cause, such as swapping non-Fairtrade products for Fairtrade ones.
