More horses and riders will be making their way to the Yorkshire Dales National Park – thanks to the Millennium Trust-funded Ride The Dales project.

Project managers Ride Yorkshire hosted a meeting in Grassington Town Hall earlier this month, which was attended by representatives from local businesses, riding groups and public sector bodies.

Ride The Dales is an ambitious project that will map out riding routes in the park, linking with accommodation providers to offer holiday opportunities to equestrians.

Gill Woods, local representative for Ride Yorkshire, said: “We already know there are some wonderful routes out there and now it’s a case of linking all the information together and letting people know what’s available.”

Ride The Dales will run throughout 2012 and Ride Yorkshire is keen to hear from local equestrian and accommodation businesses and riding interest groups who would like to be involved.
